The Death Of Al Jarreau A Legend

Here we are again, another legend has passed away. In 2016 we had many public figures leave us, and with a bit of a rest at the beginning of 2017, we are yet again confronting the inevitable passing of another icon  Al Jarreau.

Al Jarreau’s musical career began in 1965 with his first jazz album release. He went on to break the multi-Genre record for being the first recording artist to receive a grammy in 3 different categories (Jazz, R&B, and pop).

Al Jarreau was also an accomplished actor on the stage and big screen.  His light was always shining for all to see and love. Hospitalized with exhaustion, he had to cancel all his remaining tour dates with regret.

Al Jarreau, like all who has contributed so much to our lives, will be missed greatly. His dash made all the difference in the world to me, and i am truly grateful for his contribution to the musical community at large.

RIP Mar 12, 1940 – Feb 12, 2017

My World Today

Having an opinion in todays world can be detrimental to your health. This country, whether you agree or not, is mentally divided. The way we should act, the way we shouldn’t act, who we accept or not, and the list goes on and on.

In the end the way a person views their world is their reality. If a person feels left out, bullied, discriminated against, persecuted, different, confident, right, etc. is reality all around.

I pose one question to you, and please this is a post to show each other what we believe to be true, and may differ from your opinion so please don’t be offended. What is your world like today?

Congrats to the lovely couple. They are now officially parents of a bouncing baby boy Eissa Al Mana.

With all the media and confusion, Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana have become parents, despite the gossip of a fake pregnancy hoax. Some have even stated they were under the impression that Janet had already had a child when she was married to El Debarge, but that has yet to be confirmed with solid evidence. Whatever the case may be, we are now informed officially of the birth of the couples first child Eissa Al Mana.

Yaya Diamond interviews Meg Lieder

BOSTON, MA – Meg Lieder has always loved to sing. For as long as she can remember she’s been singing and performing – anything from dance recitals to special music during a church service. She also comes from a family of musicians, so she was constantly surrounded by music. It should come as no surprise, then, that she long dreamed for a career in music … she just didn’t know how to make that dream a reality.
Until one day her father posted a video of her doing a cover song onto his Facebook page. The video blew up, and one of the thousands of people who saw it happened to be a finance manager for the Artist Refinery. He forwarded the video to the award-winning producer Fred “Blaze” Crawford, who liked what he heard. He contacted Meg and asked her to forward him more of her singing samples. Shortly thereafter, he offered her a contract for a six-song EP.
The first single off that EP is “Think Twice,” and was just released on Nov. 15. It’s a song she said will introduce her to the world in a way that showcases her versatility as a singer while introducing them to a fun new vibe that fans will want to listen to over and over again.
“The way it came about is really random,” Meg said of the development of the single. “I was in the studio with the plan to record another song that one of the producers wanted me to sing on. But things just weren’t clicking, and while they were working things out I started writing this song. He heard me singing and asked what it was and I told him I wanted to create a song that kind of gave off an Ariana Grande kind of vibe. He immediately created a track and I really liked it. The lyrics just kind of came easily after that.”
The song tells the story of a woman who is head-over-heels in love with her boyfriend, but he is worried that she might be thinking about other men. Out of his jealousy, he confronts her, only to discover that she’s been daydreaming about him the whole time. Essentially, Meg said, she’s telling her boyfriend that she loves him so much that he doesn’t need to “think twice” about it.
The song is one that definitely fits into the pop niche, Meg said, though it’s just one of many singles that will explore a variety of genres. She’s already been featured on other artists’ tracks – anything from EDM to hip-hop to some samples with her sister who is an opera singer. To develop her sound, Meg is currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she is focusing on contemporary music.
“My music has become a place for me to truly process my emotions,” she said. “Although I’m striving to share my music publicly, music humbles me privately. Aside from my bright, spunky and energetic personality, music has given me an opportunity to explore a more emotional and reserved side of myself. Each one of my songs is a reflection of my multi-layered personality.”
“Think Twice” is now available everywhere for download and streaming (listen on Spotify; buy on iTunes) and fans can check out the new music video on YouTube. Fans can also follow her on social media on Facebook, Instagram, Soundcloud and Twitter.

Dream Chasers Radio Interviews Rev. Aaron Williams

Minister Elder Aaron M. Williams Sr.

Elder Aaron Williams Sr. was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and blessed and anointed to serve the Lord at an early age.  Minister Williams graduated from South Philadelphia High School with academic honors.

Minister Williams graduated from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, with an Associate’s Degree in Organizational Leadership; and went on to graduate from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. He is currently looking to pursue his Master’s Degree in Theology.

Minister Williams’ greatest desire is to see the people of God become the people envisioned as stated in a statement by Rev. R.W. Shambach: “The Son of God became the Son of Man, that we the sons of men, may become the sons of God.”

Minister Williams believes God did not call us to destruction, but has called his people out of darkness into the marvelous light. He often quotes Philippians 1:6 “ Being confident of this very thing, that He which begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus” and encourages the Body of Christ to not give up on themselves, God is not through with you yet.

Minister Williams understands that he is not a perfect man, but serves a God who sees us as we are, and calls us to become what He purposed in Himself before the foundation of the world. His favorite saying is, “God’s Plan is better than our own.”

He has been a part of the Deliverance Evangelistic Church’s Prison Ministry, ministering through both word and song since 1988. Minister Williams is an active member of his local church in which his Grandmother was a part of the original 8-members that started the ministry in the late Pastor Benjamin Smith, Sr.’s living room. Pastor Glenn Spalding now presides as pastor.

Coming from a musical family, Williams felt that bringing what has always been on the inside, to a platform that can be shared with all, was God’s perfect will for his life. His greater desire even for his family is that with the help of God this will be only one of many, many more projects.

Although I knew at an early age that I could sing, I never wanted my family to know because I did not want to sing on the choir!

Every time I would be asked to chime in, I came up with an excuse or I would make my voice sound horrible, so that they wouldn’t ask.

One day, when my aunts began to sing, I began to harmonize with them. My grandmother heard me, and began to praise God out loud for the “miracle” he had wrought in her grandson, by anointing me to finally be able to sing!

I often laugh about that memory, and I’ve learned through the years to be thankful to God for the gift of song.  I’ve learned to accept it as a part of my ministry to the body of Christ.

I am still in awe of what God has done and is doing in me through this anointing to sing.

May you be blessed by it.
